Pictures in Motion (First Encounter) (2025/05/04)
This is the first release of the collaboration between the musician Mika Takehara and composer Marsel Nichan.
Mika presents music by Marsel for solo vibraphone that was written over a decade ago and also newly written duo pieces for vibraphone and marimba performed by Mika Takehara and Ludvig Nilsson .
The nature and ocean is the main inspiration that Marsel has had when composing the music in this release.
Release concert was held in S:t Eskils Church in Haninge on 4th of May 2025.
A Global Matter - with Marsel Nichan and Ann Elkjär (2025/03/07)
On this release "A Global Matter", Marsel takes us in his music world of EAM and electronics together with the amazing flutist Ann Elkjär.
Recording was made at Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm and the main inspiration for this release was taken from the time during Corona pandemic.
Release concert was held during the Halo-Festival in Växjö on the 8th of March 2025 and there will be more concerts during the year where the music from this release will be performed. TBA.
Fractals - Kwartludium performs music by Marsel Nichan (2023/03/01)
This Polish-Swedish collaboration started in 2020 when the composer Marsel Nichan was granted the Swedish Arts Grants Committee's residency program with the ensemble Kwartludium. Marsel wrote the first piece to Kwartludium (The Order in The Chaos & The Chaos in The Order) and this led to a joint project that resulted in a tour to Sweden during November 2021. After the first successful project Kwartludium decided to commission another piece by Marsel and got financial support by the Polish minister of culture. The second piece (Fractals) was written during 2022 and was premiered 29th of October same year during The NeoArte Festival in Gdansk.
Both Kwartludium and Marsel expressed a big interest into recording these two pieces and during 2022 Kwartludium asked for more pieces from Marsel´s repertoire and they got a couple of pieces that both Marsel and the ensemble chose from to finally create this record.
